I didn't choose the sea. The sea chose me. I was born in M'diq, a few hundred meters from the water. Before I could walk, I could hear it. The waves were my first lullaby. The salt air was the first thing I ever breathed. Growing up here, the sea was not something you visited. It was something you lived inside of. Every morning it was there. Every evening it called you back. Weld l'b7er. Son of the sea. Some people are just born belonging to the water. I was one of them.

I was five years old when my father took me out on a small boat and threw me into the Mediterranean without warning. I remember going under. The cold. The blue. The silence. I should have panicked. But I didn't. Because the sea didn't let me sink. I felt it lift me — gently, firmly — back to the surface. Like arms wrapping around me. Like a mother saying I have you. I burst through the surface laughing. That day I didn't just learn to swim. I learned who I was.

For years I watched visitors come to this coast and struggle — searching for boats, treated like transactions, sent out on the water by people who saw the sea as nothing more than money. It broke something in me every time. Because this sea deserves better than that. I built Levante for one reason — to give the sea the respect it deserves. And to share it, properly and honestly, with everyone who is ready to feel it. The sea raised me. Levante is how I give back.
